Zone 7 students are enjoying a tropical treat today as they learn more about the beautiful island of Martinique. They have put together some lovely pineapple upside down cakes and made an information web including many interesting pieces of information about this Caribbean country.
Zone 8 students learned all about Belgium in this unit of study. From diamonds to chocolate they discovered many things that make Belgium a unique and interesting country! The highlight of this part of our units is, of course, getting to make food that originates in this part of the world. This time we had Belgian waffles with all the toppings! Yum!
Senior French students are brainstorming their way into their new units of study. Grade/Level 6 students were hard at work thinking of various hobbies and past times. They are beginning their work toward a motivational speech in French about an activity they are passionate about.
Zone 7 students will be focussing their energies on the various ways that technology impacts our day to day life. Their final product in this unit will be a critique of a movie, song or video.
Zone 8 students will be diving into their new unit that is all about them! The final project they will be working toward over the upcoming weeks is an in-depth description of themselves and their preferences.
Senior French students worked together to bake bannock, croissants and create a fruit salad according to the areas they studied in their respective French units. Grade 6 students baked bannock after learning about Lethbridge, Alberta. Grade 7 students created a fruit salad after studying aspects of Port-au-Prince, Haiti and grade 8 students baked chocolate croissants after reading about Gréolières, France. A delicious time was enjoyed by all!
