On October 23rd Casa 4 went on a field trip to Dixie Apple Orchard. There the children got to see a few farm animals-goats, geese, calves, hens, etc. Farmer Bob walked our class through a corn maze. He gave the children a lesson on the Life Cycle of an Apple, informing them of the important role honey bees play to pollinate apple blossoms so they bear fruit. The children got to play for a while around bales of hay and with toy tractors. Then came the highlight of the trip, Farmer Paul took the children on a wagon ride. He drove first to an apple orchard and later to a pumpkin patch, where the children got to choose a total of three pumpkins or gourds in combination. Judging from the photographs, the children had an enjoyable time.
