Last week Friday, the Grade 4 class had an opportunity to embark on a field trip to the Microsoft Technology Center headed by Mr. Ross Mistri. It was Computer Science Education Week and our entire school participated in The Hour of Code Campaign. This was a chance for students to gain an understanding of the important role Computer Science has in society. This is a new form of literacy being taught around the world. As future generations will be focused on innovation and science, coding skills will be necessary to ensure and understanding of the application of computer knowledge needed to be successful. With over 17 million students signed up and participating in the event, we had the opportunity to take a look at some of the latest technology hitting the market. From 103′ flat screen TV with touch overlay, to the Xbox One, The Microsoft Technology Center had it all. We would like to thank Mr. Ross Mistri and his amazing team for this incredible experience!
