On November 27th, Tall Pines School was visited by a team of five accreditation consultants and the Executive Director from the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators, who re-confirmed that Tall Pines School remains the longest CCMA Accredited Montessori school in Canada.
Every five years, CCMA accredited schools go through the process of re-accreditation, so that families continue to be assured that their children are enrolled in an authentic program of Montessori education. In a time where many daycare centres, nurseries and other schools use the name Montessori without actually following the philosophy designed by Dr. Maria Montessori, it is essential that the CCMA accreditation process continues.
The Accreditation Consultants who visited our school observed our Montessori classrooms in operation and reported back to the school’s Leadership Team with ways to make the superb Tall Pines School programs even better. It was a great meeting at the end of the day of observations. The CCMA accreditors were delighted with our school and commended our staff, not just for their dedication to Montessori philosophy, but also for their calm and encouraging approach with the students.
This confirmation of our accreditation is a great testament to the vision of our founder, Elaine Flett, and a testament to the very hard work of Debbie Johnson, Vice Principal, Montessori, and her staff of Montessori teaching professionals. Please join us in offering the Montessori faculty members your congratulations.
