This morning our MJH, Grade 7 and Grade 8 classes attended the Brampton Cenotaph Remembrance Day Ceremony. Most years we attend as school to pay our respects to those who serve, so that we may be free. This year was a little different though. This year we were a part of the parade and had the opportunity to lay a wreath on behalf of the school. To prepare the students practiced marching last Friday afternoon in the cold wind. Ishanov and Julia represented the students and staff of Tall Pines School as they laid the wreath on the Cenotaph. Although a little chilly, it was a very good service and many of the students took the opportunity to have a few words with a Veteran.
As a school we feel it is vital that the students understand the sacrifices that have been made, so that they can live as good a life as they do. We remind the students both of the hard work their parents do to allow them to attend Tall Pines School and also of the bigger picture sacrifices that are made on all our behalf by the men and women of our Armed Forces.
