...we arrived in Chicago. Our first stop was Navy Pier. Navy Pier was originally called Pier #2, but since Piers #1, 3, and 4 were never built, it is the first and last one. It is a must stop for tourists visiting Chicago and a perfect way to kickoff our time in Chicago. With a Ferris wheel and a few other rides the students were able to burn off some pent-up energy. Chicago is in the Central Time Zone so while we were waiting to have dinner at Bubba Gumps, we caught a little of the Leaf game, on the only TV showing the game. As we arrived at the hotel, we learned of the tremendous disappointment of Leaf Nation. This didn't stop the kids from frantically running from room to room getting in as much visiting time as possible before it was time for bed. The kids were definitely not in the depths of despair over the Leafs loss. They got over it very quickly. It looks like we are in for some very nice weather while we are here. Tomorrow we'll be up bright and early and begin our tour of Chicago in earnest, visiting the Aquarium and Oceanarium in the morning. According to many of the kids this is the must see portion of the trip.
